St. William Catholic School is dedicated to providing our students with academic excellence this year – whether in the classroom or through a virtual platform. We have been preparing for distance learning should it become necessary for any length of time during the 2020-2021 academic year.
We formed a Health and Safety Team which is comprised of our principal, Leadership Team, and parents who began reviewing survey data and recommendations from the AOD. A plan was developed and reviewed by the 2020-21 school staff. If distance learning is required this year, students will be provided a blend of synchronous (live – using Google Meet) and asynchronous (available at any time) instruction. The blend of teaching methods will ensure that the students are engaged in direct instruction, while allowing scheduling flexibility for families.
We recognize the challenges distance learning may pose for our students and their families. We had two scheduled virtual practice dates this fall so students and families could practice and prepare for virtual learning. The positive feedback received through our parent surveys indicated areas of strength and improvement. We are prepared to work with you in providing a platform in which our students can learn and grow from.
This year we have a school theme which sets the tone for our school community “Trust in Him” “Walk with Him” We believe that St. Paul’s words to the Philippians are still words to hold in our heart with great faith. “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13
